Held annually at the YMCA Camp in Lake County, the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp offers children who have suffered burns a judgement-free activity-filled week-long environment supported by professional counselors. At a cost of about $2,000 per camper, donations fund this event. Coordinated by PHFD Lieutenant Andy Plonski, $1,000 was raised through donations, most notably the boot drive held last month at Tony's Finer Foods. Thanks to all is our community, especially Tony's, who donated and to our members who gave their time to make it happen.
