As members of MABAS – the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System – the PHFD trains twice each year with our neighboring fire departments. Using real fires at our regional training academy in Glenview we practice coordinated fire attacks. Over a three week period more than 700 firefighters from 18 area fire departments rotated through such evolutions. This excellent training keeps up prepared. We would never be able to accomplish this event except with the terrific intergovernmental cooperation.
