Passing of Former PHFPD Trustee Tony Carlin

By Fire Chief Drew Smith
August 2, 2019

It is with sadness that I announce the death of former PHFPD trustee Anthony “Tony” Carlin. Mr. Carlin served as a trustee from 1998 until 2008. Prior to 1998, Mr. Carlin was president of the Palwaukee Area (formerly Wheeling Township) Fire Protection District. Tony was instrumental in the consolidation of the PAFPA and the PH Rural FPD to form the present PHFPD. As a member of the board, Tony also supported the implementation of the first full time fire chief and deputy chiefs then the first full time captains and firefighter paramedics. We owe him a debt of gratitude for his spirt and fight to make things better. Tony also served our city as a forensics technician taking photos of crime scenes and other significant incidents.

Thank you Tony for your service to Prospect Heights.
