| January 20th at about 11p.m, the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District was dispatched to 20538 N. Clarice Avenue in unincorporated Buffalo Grove. On their arrival the two-story home was found fully involved. Due to the heavy fire and severe winter weather additional assistance was requested using a MABAS box alarm. This brought additional fire apparatus and manpower from multiple area departments. Chief Gould (radio ID 900) responded and was assigned to manage the rehab. Rehab(ilitation) involves the rest, rehydration, and medical evaluation of those firefighters who operated in the hazard zone. Chief Gould managed this function using multiple ambulance paramedics as well the MESS canteen and a large bus as a warming vehicle. |
