Children from Betsy Ross School visited Fire Station #9 today. Fire department members showed the children the vehicles, and the fire station. Children learned about how the daily life revolves for a fire fighter- When members report for duty, staying at the fire house for a full 24 hours, daily work routines (and chores), and cooking meals. Even recently promoted Fire Chief Drew Smith took the time for this special and important public education opportunity to help teach the children about what is takes to be a fire fighter. This was part of a public safety day tour where the children visited the fire station, and the Prospect Heigfht Police Department.
