Friday morning started busy for Prospect Heights Fire Fighters and Paramedics. Crews were summoned to the 0-100 block of robert Ave at 07:42 Hrs for the reported crash. The bus, bound for MacArthur middle school, was mostly full of children when struck. Ambulance 9, Engine 9 and Battalion 9 responded initially on the call. Crews found that most children were uninjured. The bus driver had the bus evacuated due to a fluid and fuel leak from the front of the bus. Due to several children having complaints of injuries, another Prospect Heights ambulance, and one from Wheeling responded to the scene. 3 children were transported for reported injuries (minor) to local hospitals. 47 other children were checked for complaints of injuries, but were free of reported injuries. The bus driver and garbage truck driver were also evaluated and declined treatment. MacArthur School's Principle and Asst, Principle reported to the scene to assume guardianship for the children who were uninjured, and arranged for contact of all parents who had children involved.
