| 45 years ago this week in Prospect Heights the volunteer firemen answered three fire calls:
2-21-69: 110 W. Willow for smoke in the house. Determined it was from a malfunctioning ceiling light, fan, and heater fixture. No fire found.
2-26-69: 801 Bonnie Brook for smoke in the house. Had been a fire in a television set.
2-28-69: 415 N. Elmhurst for a field fire.
All three calls occurred on weekdays requiring the then volunteer firemen to leave their job or business to attend to the needs of their community. We are forever thankful to these men to volunteered to keep early Prospect Heights safe. |
