Since the first of the year Prospect Heights’ firefighter/paramedics have assisted several neighboring fire departments at large fires, three of which resulted in the combined loss of nine lives.

January 5 assisted Buffalo Grove at house fire
January 22 assisted Arlington Heights at house fire
January 27 assisted Des Plaines at house fire that claimed five lives
January 31 assisted the Palatine Rural Fire Protection District at a fire in Inverness that claimed two lives
February 1 assisted Buffalo Grove at house fire
February 4 assisted Arlington Heights at house fire that claimed two lives
February 7 assisted Mount Prospect at house fire
February 16 assisted Northbrook at a house fire

We are proud to help our neighbors in their time of need and comforted to know that should such tragedy strike in Prospect Heights that these same fire departments stand ready to assist us. This mutual aid is a cornerstone of what we do as a fire department.
