Over the last 30 years, Prospect Heights has seen over 233 building fires and of those, 56 were significant fires that required multiple crews

Of those, 3 fires displaced dozens of residents.
“We need to be prepared for those fires, our fleet is coming to the end of its life and we need to reboot,” Fire Chief Drew Smith said.
