On Friday, September 5, 2014, members of the Prospect Heights Fire District were requested to attend an Ice Bucket challenge hosted by J. Hersey H.S. students. The idea of the Ice Bucket challenge is that to participate you must donate $10 minimally and pour ice cold water over yourself. If you are challenged and do not want to get wet and cold, one is supposed to donate $100.

Well, the students of Hersey did a great job in raising over $800. After the football game, participants gathered on the field and the cameras were set. The Fire District set up a hose line and sprayed the participants until all were soaking wet. A great time was had by all and money was raised for a good cause: ALS research for a cure.
