When President Obama visited Northwestern University on October 2nd the Prospect Heights Fire District was asked to provide a standby with its Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting vehicle, Crash Truck 39. Working with the Evanston Fire and Life Safety Service and the U.S. Secret Service, CT39 stood by at the lakefront where the president’s helicopter landed. Fortunately the event was uneventful from a fire department perspective but those members who served our president will have lifelong memories. |
