Annually the firefighters from Prospect Heights Fire District and Wheeling Fire Department travel to the simulator at O’Hare International Airport to practice techniques used during an aircraft emergency.

This simulator is a propane fired mock up that allows safe training on an actual 757 passenger aircraft. The computerized control room allows fires on the ground and any area of the aircraft. Specialized sensors can ensure that proper foam has been applied to control the blaze

This video is taken from the cab of Crash Truck 39 as they approach and extinguish a large fuel fire in a simulated plane crash.
