During the holiday season the Fire District takes time to acknowledge and thank its members for their continued support and dedication throughout the year. Each year Fire Chief Donald R. Gould Jr. presents members with service awards upon completion of their milestone years. This year the district held an employee recognition luncheon to show its appreciation. The Prospect Heights Fire District would like to acknowledge and thank the following members for their noteworthy years of service.

John Douglas Tragesser 25 Years
Doug Golonka 25 Years
Jon Tammen 25 Years
Ronald Olsen 10 Years
Jonathan Grossmann 10 Years
Andrzej Plonski 10 Years
Richard Christensen 10 Years
Michael Pacocha 5 Years
Brian McDonald 5 Years
Kelly Cossman 5 Years
Matthew Gray 5 Years

Each year Fire Chief Donald R. Gould Jr. presents one firefighter the honor of “Firefighter of the Year.” The criteria is based on training attendance and performance, performance on emergency incidents, general leadership and helping of other members of the department, involvement in special projects and overall attitude towards the department, members and the public and it’s the actual membership who chooses which of their brothers wins. Firefighter/paramedic Robert Beckman was named the 2014 “Firefighter of the Year,” by his fellow members. Firefighter/paramedic Beckman has been with the fire district for seven years and started his career here in the district’s recruit program. Congratulations Robert Beckman and thank you for your dedication to our district and community.
