Prospect Heights Fire District helped the Norwood Park Fire Department with their fire on the morning of January 7th, 2015. The temperatures were below zero and many of the hydrants had frozen along with several fire engines whose pumps weren't working optimally. Tanker 9 from Prospect Heights was sent via MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) to provide water with 3,000 gallons and shuttled to nearby hydrants that weren't frozen to help finally extinguish the blaze.
