The Prospect Heights Fire District provides emergency and non-emergency services


Prospect Heights AmbulanceEmergency Medical Service:

  • Basic and Advanced Life Support ambulances staffed with Paramedics
  • Member of Northwest Community Emergency Medical Services System
  • Residents may receive free blood pressure screening at the fire stations during the daytime and early evening hours.
  • Residents with special needs who require assistance may request this service. This service is limited to those people who need help on occasion and not regularly. Residents in need of regular help must make other arrangements. 

Rescue PhotoRescue:

  • Fire District responds to persons trapped or distressed in transportation accidents, elevators, or open waters

  •  Member of the MABAS Division 1 and 3 dive teams additional assistance is automatically dispatched to any reported drowning

  • Technical rescues or when the district needs additional assistance the fire district utilizes the services of the MABAS Special Rescue Team


Hazardous Materials:

  • Control, Containment, and Mitigation
  • members provide level 1 responses for basic incidents
  • Larger Incidents or when the district needs additional assistance the fire district utilizes the services of the MABAS Division 3 Hazardous Materials Response Team

Fire Suppression and Control, both structural and flammable liquid

Non-emergency response and assistance to citizens with:

  • Broken water pipes.
  • Electrical problems.
  • Pet and wildlife emergencies.
  • Lock-out or lock-in assistance.

To this end, fire district services are generally limited to advisor in nature and not that of repair or mitigation. When able and safe to do so, fire district members will stop damage or remove potential hazards.

  • Fire station tours
  • Block parties for equipment demonstrations.
  • School and Group visits, either at the fire station or within the fire district.
  • Fire safety lectures and demonstrations.
  • Home fire safety inspections by appointment.

  • CPR classes
  • First aid classes

Fire Prevention activities include:

  • Inspection of all non-single-family dwellings for compliance with fire and life-safety codes and regulations.
  • Review of building plans for all new and remodeling non-single family dwellings for compliance with fire and life-safety codes and regulations.
  • Pre-fire survey of non-single-family dwelling sites to locate hazards, utilities, and other necessary information.

This list is not all-inclusive or exclusive and from time to time certain services offered, both emergency and non-emergency, may be added, modified or amended, or removed as deemed necessary by the fire district.
