Serious crash with multiple injuries and people trapped

At 12:21 on Monday, March 10 Engine 9, Engine 39, Ambulance 9, and Battalion 9 were dispatched to a multiple vehicle accident with multiple patients and persons trapped in multiple vehicles at 1600 Rand Road. This address creates part of the border between Prospect Heights and Arlington Heights. Deputy Chief Smith in Car 901 arrived first and met with the Arlington Heights fire chief who was on the scene. The Arlington Heights chief indicated he had requested additional ambulances. A quick plan assigned the Prospect Heights companies to one trapped person while the Arlington Heights companies were assigned to the other trapped person.
