By a vote of all active members, firefighter Marco Pahos is the recipient of the 2025 Firefighter of the Year Award.

Five active members were nominated for this award and Marco received the most votes. Every year since 1991 there has been a firefighter of the year selected. Marco is the 35th recipient of the award.

Notably, this year, Marco has just completed one year of service with the PHFD as of September. To have distinguished himself in such as manner to be recognized by your peers is quite the accomplishment. Congratulations!

I am proud to nominate Marco Pahos for Firefighter of the Year. Throughout the past year, I have had the privilege of working
alongside FF Pahos on a consistent basis, and I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and excellence he brings to our team.
FF Pahos consistently arrives at work with a positive attitude, inspiring those around him. He embodies the core qualities of a
firefighter—courage, commitment, and integrity—while setting a shining example for our newer members. His humility and eagerness to
learn have distinguished him among his peers. In addition to completing his probationary period, FF Pahos has demonstrated a solid understanding of Fire Apparatus Engineering (FAE) and pumping techniques. Despite being relatively new to the profession, his knowledge and skills reflect those of a much more seasoned firefighter. His contributions to our team and commitment to continual education make him truly deserving of this honor. -Lieutenant Thomson
